“Casa Blu” emerged as Prudence Mak’s creative response to the challenging times of the epidemic. Amidst a world gripped by depression and worry, where travel restrictions held dreams of exploration hostage, Prudence harnessed the power of her imagination to transport herself to distant lands. With her artwork, she embarked on virtual journeys, painting vivid landscapes and scenic vistas that took her from the heart of Hong Kong to her cherished global destinations, all through the lens of Google Travel. Within the frames of her creations, viewers are invited to step into the private studios of celebrated painters, discover O’Keeffe’s inspiring New Mexico studio, wander through Frida’s enchanting blue backyard in Mexico, stroll on Jane Austen’s English farm, and be captivated by the hometown of French Impressionist master Monet in France. In “Casa Blu,” Prudence Mak seeks to transform collective worries into fleeting clouds, offering a respite from the monotony of daily life. Through her art, she endeavors to elevate spirits, inviting all to transcend the mundane and venture into the azure realms of hope and inspiration.
Casa Blu is the theme of Prudence Mak’s first solo art exhibition in Sydney, this solo exhibition will introduce art lovers to 50 new creations, encompassing both her signature oil paintings and intricate 3D art creations. Mak’s work seamlessly blends the realms of colorful childhood dreams with the tranquil serenity of a blue moonlit night, inviting visitors into a world of imagination and wonder.
